Back to Shorncliffe - 2010
It was a great site to see all of the Old Boys supporting the College teams in the afternoon at Curlew Park. James Delaney the 1995 First XV Captain presented the 2010 First XV Rugby and First XI Football teams with their Old Boys Medallions and I could see on their faces when it was mentioned that he travelled all the way over from Perth that they were suitably impressed. The First XV Rugby team won 26 - 21 and we would like to believe that they overcame a very good St Edmunds team with the help of the huge Old Boys support.
A good number of Old Boys then wandered up to the Callan Centre to partake in a great evening of laughs, reminiscing, drinking and watching the Wallabies on the BIG SCREEN. Those that didn't make it up to the Callan Centre that night missed out on a very good time. We probably had Old Boys from every decade since the College started which was absolutley fantastic. The very first College School Captain Peter Jackman was there for a while. About 80 Old Boys were there to join in the fun. Some great raffle prizes were drawn out and the free drink and sausage sizzle went down a treat. The following prizes were donated for the raffles. The Old Boys committee would sincerely like to thank the wonderful support from the local businesses that donated prizes. There were:
- 2 Tickets Wallabies v Ireland - Donated by Ray White Real Estate Sandgate
- 1 Magnum Red Wine 2004 - Jim McKeering Real Estate Sandgate
- Socceroos pack including Jersey, shirt and cap - Amart All Sports Virginia
- $75 voucher to Ramekins Cafe Carseldine - Ramekins Cafe
- 2 x 5 tickets to Tatts race day - Tattersals Club
- $30 meat voucher - Bernie the Bargain Butcher Taigum
The class of 95 had an enjoyable night and thankyou fellas for holding your 15 year reunion at our Old Boys event. It's a great idea to hold one of your milestone reunions not only with each other but with other Old Boys.
It is hoped that next year our big mid year event will attract more Old Boys to join in the fun. For those that were at the night...spread the word.
Once again thanks one and all!
